NOMAD
"New Way of Living"
Nomad's design is intended to be thought provoking about how the value of design has evolved. The starting point was to study what the new ways of living are like, this led me to focus specifically on people who live in small spaces, both work spaces as home spaces, for this I took into account different places and decided to conduct interviews to people who were currently in this situation, their experiences and opinions were varied but among all of them there was a common denominator, they missed having a seat that was an intermediate term between sitting and lying down.
CONCEPT
I decided to direct the entire creative process in one direction, a new seating concept that adapts to the new way of living of these people, and intertwine it with aspects that I consider relevant when designing; the sustainability and recovery of the materials and the manufacturing process of the object. The result is a multifunctional seat that manages to offer different possibilities and adapts to small spaces that represent new ways of life.
The design always sought to unite two things, the answers obtained in a user research carried out on the residents of the space, and two, that the seat could stand out while blending in thanks to its neutral aesthetic.
It can be used by two people simultaneously, it gives rise to conversations and new situations.

The neutral design of the seat allows it to be adapted both to private spaces such as bedrooms and also to public leisure spaces, such as study or work rooms.
MATERIALS
TEXTURES
As it is a seat, a search and study of different types of textiles were carried out that mainly lengthen the useful life of the seat, since it is a design that offers the possibility of being assembled and disassembled in two positions, the probability of it being damaged or dirty.
Finally, a textile was chosen that had the particularity of having among its components, Teflon in a minimum quantity but the necessary to repel stains on a large scale. Its touch is soft and short-haired, very similar to the effect of suede, which makes the seat a cozy and warm design.
